Most of us who own websites with e-mail lists to realize exactly how profitable it can be to have people on these mailing lists. We may do a lot of different things and test different methods of getting more people to subscribe to our mailing list without upping the amount of people that are coming to our website. After all, a visitor that subscribes is an opportunity to have a visitor on multiple occasions and perhaps even to be able to sell to them multiple times as well. Allowing your visitors to come and go without leaving their e-mail address is really a shame, and it is highly unlikely that you will see them again.
There are several different methods that you can use in order to get more subscribers without increasing the amount of visitors to your website. One simple thing that many people tend to overlook, however, is simply asking for the subscriber and making sure that you make it worth their while. Don’t hide the subscribe box in some out-of-the-way area of your website. Put it right in their face and give them a compelling reason to enter their e-mail address into the box and click the submit button. This can be done with a free report, one that you put together in an hour or two and it will become a subscriber magnet that will help your business in untold ways.
Another method of getting more subscribers is to funnel your visitors through a squeeze page instead of sending them directly to the content. This is especially effective when you are getting subscribers from links or pay per click traffic and not directly from the SERPS. The reason why these squeeze pages or so effective is because you are limiting the amount of options that somebody has in order to exit the webpage. Provided you are giving them a compelling reason to join, the only options that they have are to join or to exit with the back button. You can also increase your numbers by using an exit pop up window and capture a few additional addresses from people that are quick on the draw to leave.
Something else that many people are finding success with is using video in order to increase their subscribers. Video is a rather popular item in Internet marketing circles but there are many niches that are not currently using video to its full potential. People love online video and if you’re giving it to them regularly, you would be surprised with how much you are able to benefit from it. Use the video to outline the offer that you have and then point directly to the subscribe box and ask them to fill in their e-mail address and click the submit button. You would be amazed with how well this simple variation of a squeeze page works.
Regardless of the methods that you are using in order to get new subscribers, make sure that you are working at it wholeheartedly. Every new subscriber is a new opportunity, any lost subscriber is an opportunity lost.
