So it gets to a point in blogging that you just want to remember to have fun with your blog. I mean, let’s face it..we work our rump shakers off all week researching, reading, commenting and implementing. Having said that, welcome to the first edition of Fun On Fridays!
I don’t really know how often I will do this, I would like every week, but we will see. I want to reserve Fridays for fun! I want to reward all of you with some humor and laid back festivities. ( could this be topic block maybe?!)
Whatever it is, enjoy it. This week I am going to be showing you some banner ads that TELL THE TRUTH. 🙂 Well, this is what they would look like IF the ads were truthful.
And my personal favorite??
I am sure you could come up with some great creative and funny banners yourselves. These just happened to make me giggle and well, I now give them to you. All photos courtesy of Cracked.com…they are seriously cracked!!
Your turn my friends….tell me what you think ads would say if they were truthful. Also, what else would you like to see here for Fun on Fridays?
Please tweet and share!
LOL I liked the lower your standards ad. Sweet stuff Lisa!
Glad you liked it Edwin!! I found them to be quite humorous!
Also, in case you missed my reply to your other comment, I am using the RAX email subscription and social media links plug in for after post opt in.
All the best,
Lisa
Hahahaha 🙂 Funny post ! Re tweeted it ! Many of our ads are not honest at all, but still people do believe in it !
Anyway, thank you for the awesome post,
Jeevan Jacob John
Thank you Jeevan and I am glad you enjoyed it!!
Cheers,
Lisa
You got my RT but I have seen a lot of banner ads that told me a lie 🙂
You are correct! and welcome to my blog!
Cheers
Lisa
Yeah, it is funny. However, I have deep thought that it seems the normal way for ads is lying so it becomes funny when the ads tell the truth. 🙂
Exactly Dana! thanks for stoppping by my blog!
Cheers,
Lisa
Great idea Lisa.
I’m definitely into sprinkling some fun in amongst all the serious blogging going on… a little in each post and indeed, why not make it a regular event!
I wonder if banners as honest as those above would still get clicks? I think they might!
Thanks for sharing 🙂
Jym
Hi Jym:
LOL…I think I would click on them just out of curiosity! I would just have to see what it was all about. Now, conversions…hmmmm
A funny and informative post, Lisa! Love those banners 😀
Hi Lisa,
Love the “Absolutely Nothing” a classic, I wonder how many people bid on it, or asked really stupid questions.

Pete:
Glad you liked it!! I thought it was hilarious!

Lisa
Lisa,
Thanks for the laughs on this post! I sit here day in and day out reading all these work-related very serious blogs, so my brain appreciated the rest!
alicia:
So glad you got a laugh!! I hope to keep bringing the friday fun after a hard work week!
Cheers,
Lisa
Lisa,
I have tested many ways to display affiliate products in my blogs, from position, size and also appearance (images or texts).
I have checked it, and it will get more click if it is an image, so i come to conclusions, people tend to be interested on images than text.
Plus, if the image is very interesting it will rise the clicking amount..lol
Thanks
Thanks Kimi! I appreciate the feedback
Cheers,
Lisa
I haven’t tweeted in a while, but couldn’t resist!
Those are too good, especially the last one about delivering nothing but taking your money – I think we can all relate to that. Can’t think of any sites offhand but I’m sure you’ll keep the funny coming!
Hi Lisa
Well it’s already Saturday here but I love your idea of Fun Friday. Always up for a laugh. Sometimes life just gets tooooo serious 😉
Have a great weekend Lisa and keep rockin it gal 🙂

Lisa,
I just remembered my all time favorite. I used to work for a direct mail company and we did a mailing for Ducks Unlimited. I let you guess as to the worst possible typo that went in a letter to the CEO.
Riley
OOOOOHHHH!!! haaa…now that is truly priceless!! LOL 🙂
Hi Lisa,
The last page of Consumer Reports has a feature called goofs, glitches, gotchas in the advertising world. An example – Rite Aid ran an ad for bag candy but the ad read bad candy.
Riley
LOL!! I love it Riley…thanks for reference, because I am most definitely going to check it out!
All the best,
Lisa
Well at least sometimes the adverts make us laugh 🙂 Thanks or the post .. check out my SEO Orange County site if you have some time.
Hi Lisa,
Those were excellent translations for those ads. I wonder if we could talk Google into putting a special feature on the translate function so we could be assisted in truth in advertising/

Lou:
I love it!! Let’s contact Matt Cutts and see if we can make it happen! You first!!! :)))
Lisa,
How funny! It is good we can laugh at ourselves.
Glad to provide a laugh seila!

only few ads were honest especially ads showing make money are not honest (my personal experience )
Very True Vivek!
Lisa
Funny, enjoyed these. Surprised you didn’t lampoon the make $$$$ on AdSense or Blogging ones… oh wait they pretty much are their own lampoon.
LOL Justin! You are right on the money with that one!! LOL
Cheers,
Lisa

Thnx for a chuckle this morning Lisa…for a complete oposite of truthful check out Gini’s SpinSucks blogpost for today. Keneth Cole decided to take the opposite-of-honest approach to say the least with their ads/tweets only to result in 2.5% increase in stock price. Un freakin believable.
Glad you liked it Dino! I am off to check out ss!! Have a great day
Lisa
Dino, that guy that used Egypt for promotion of the spring collection??? OMG.
Lisa, I loved this, was laughing watching at these crazy ads 🙂 You did make my Friday fun!!!
Yay Brankica! Then my goal is accomplished.
Woot!!! Loved your challenge post on Nicolas!
Cheers,
Lisa
