Here is the newest WordPress plugin I installed on The Friendly Blogger: BlogGlue Related Posts Network Plugin, which I strongly recommend you to install on your blog. Why?
Well, the number one reason I can think of is that bloggers often can’t grow his or her own blog without the help of other bloggers recommending the blog to their readers. BlogGlue has the answer – and more.
What is BlogGlue?
From the About BlogGlue page: “BlogGlue is a related posts widget that connects blogs across the web… BlogGlue exists to make it simpler for bloggers to find new audiences by allowing them to connect with other like minded blogs.”
So, in other words: BlogGlue is a traffic and link exchange network between blogs that share similar topics of interest.
All you need to do is to install a BlogGlue plugin (currently available for WordPress, Joomla!, Drupal, and Blogger.com.) Then the BlogGlue bots will crawl your site, indexing your blog pages.
Meanwhile, you should start getting fresh new readers to your blog by connecting with partner blogs – you obviously want the partner blogs to be in similar niches and topics as yours. The purpose of this is two folds:
- To get targeted traffic from similar niche blogs,
- To do blog post link exchange with similar blogs – something that is highly considered by Google and the rest. (yes, the partner’s blog post links are without rel=nofollow attribute.)
What you will see when BlogGlue is active on your blog is just like the one below this blog post – just scroll down and you’ll see what I mean… (the “More From The Friendly Blogger” and “The Friendly Blogger Recommends”)
So, the BlogGlue plugin will list similar blog posts – not only from your own blog, but also from your partner blogs. When the partnership is established, BlogGlue system will arrange that your blog display blog posts from your partners, and vice versa.
To see how this benefit your blogs, just check the dashboard for some stats – you can see the incoming traffic and other details.
Some tips on using BlogGlue
Please be aware that for the free account, you are only allowed to partner with 5 bloggers only with up to 400 of your blog posts indexed by the system.
If you need more power, you can upgrade to Basic or Unlimited plan, giving you more partners and more indexed blog posts, in exchange for a monthly fee, starting from $9.97/month.
Again, be sure to partner with the blogs that have similar niches and topics as yours. Also, check the website stats of your partners to find out whether their blogs are highly visited, etc. You don’t want to partner with a low-traffic site because you won’t get plenty of clicks from your partners.
So, please consider to try – visit BlogGlue to learn more.
This is a great plugin, i will check it on my blogs, Thanks for excelent resource!
Just signed up for blog glue yesterday thanks to you. Now trying to figure out how to gain partners. Thanks.
I just signed up for the free BlogGlue account, and was a little confused. Thanks to your excellent post, I now understand that “recommending” someone is the same as accepting them as your “partner.”
For some reason, I had thought these were 2 different ways of connecting with other bloggers there.)
To your point, one thing I’m watching out for is the authority of those blogs I “partner” with. I think that blogs that have 0 page rank will suck up some of mine, and that wouldn’t be good. 🙂
Agreed,
Choose your partner wisely 🙂 Having your blog post links on blogs that have lack of visibility and traffic won’t give you much benefit.
Sounds like a great plugin. I’ll have to check this out. Sally
Cheers, Sally 🙂
