So, all the rage these days is the new Google+ social network. A potential facebook killer some are touting. I can’t say whether it will or not as I have not looked deep enough into it yet. I will say this, Google has not so well thus far on some of their new programs.
Google Buzz was a flop, gmail had security issues and if you go to the Google labs, they have tons in the works. Some of their projects have been in the works for quite awhile; only time will tell.
How To Join Google+
Right now everyone wants to know how to join Google+. As the site is in it’s infancy and beta stages, Google states they are still working out some kinks. When you visit the project site, it states they have reached their beta testing capacity with users. So, they ask you to leave your email and they will let you know when it’s up and running and ready to go.
Booo….who wants to wait until then?! We all want to be first in line and say we had the chance to check it out in beta testing before anyone else, right? Or is it just me???
So how do you join when everyone is locked out? Unfortunately right now, it’s invite only. I know, sucks when you’re not invited to the party. However, this morning I was pleasantly surprised to have an invite in my email box. Woo hoo!
So, my advice here is to see who is touting Google+ and how they like it. Ask for an invite if you are pretty sure they will do so for you. I wouldn’t go willy nilly asking just anyone though. Utilize your networking skills and capitalize on the relationships you have already built.
As for bloggers and site owners, maybe using an invite to entice newsletter subscribers or commentors might be a way to go.
As for me, I am going to accept my invite, check it out and report back to you my thoughts on Google+ and whether or not I think it really could be the Facebook killer. I mean, remember when MySpace was all the rage and here comes FB…..Facebook really was the Myspace killer.
Are you on Google+? Do you need an invite?
I am interested to have Google + to share useful good things I experienced in my day to day life.

Hey Lisa,
Nice article, really think they might pull it off, in the end of the day, they have powerful resources to attract in the users and get the movement rolling plus facebook is old news to the trend setters and early adopters……..
On another note I would really be grateful for an invite and follow ur technology insights. tariq.valente@gmail.com
Thanks and happy blogging.

Can someone send me an invite?
Hi Lisa,
I think you were lucky. I did get an invite – getting invites isn’t the problem – however Google+ states that it has reached capacity and not letting anyone in.
It may have created a buzz by creating the private members only type of club. But unless they open up their doors, people are going to be tired of tried to get in or those who are already in will get bored of not having anyone to network with.
Another poor Marketing approach from Google.
anyone here can send an invitation for google+
would u mind to send me one?
i do really appreciate ur help
Hey Lisa, the newsletter stuff is exactly what I did a few days ago. I asked my subscribers if they wanted an invite and had more than 30 replies in less than 20 minutes.
I sent everyone an invite but some had to wait. Seems Google would not deliver them all straight away but in “waves”. However, it was a great thing to do and now I have so many of my blogging buddies and newsletter subscribers there that it is almost like a party in G+ house 🙂
see, you are always one up on everyone girl!!! ROCKSTAR!
hi lisa
probably I am the first to comment on this post. You pointed correctly that Google plus is by invite only and congrats on getting your invite.Well..I have no networking with you as yet but I believe It can begin with an invite to me from you..:)
I shall be a good plusmate and hope to contribute to our common cause of building a knowledge society if I get that invite..:)
Thanks anyways for a nice read..
