Search is Still A Top Activity For Internet Users

We talk all the time about creating an seo strategy for your blogs. We talk about utilizing keyword research to rank well in Google. It is still as important today as it ever was….even more so due to the intense competition out there.

The Pew research company, a well respected study group company has released a new results poll. And this poll centered on what activities reign supreme for Internet users. If you thought shopping and music would take top spot, you are wrong again. It is still searching and email tasks.

What this means for your blog is that you still need to write valuable content, but implement seo and keywords and links in the process. All of this will propel you in the search engines and allow you to get your content or offers in front of the masses of search users.

Check this out from PewResearch.org:

Perhaps the most significant change over that time is that both activities have become more habitual. Today, roughly six in ten online adults engage in each of these activities on a typical day; in 2002, 49% of online adults used email each day, while just 29% used a search engine daily.

So not only are they still top activities, but they have increased steadily over the years. If you are not capitalizing on this information, then you are leaving traffic and money on the table.

Look at this infographic below to see exactly what I mean.

search engines, pew research, email and searchLooks pretty prominent to me. Seo and keyword research will never go away and if you plan on becoming a blog superstar, you need to jump on board.

In my opinion, you also need to utilize mailing lists, rss by email and blog posts by email functions. Any questions?!
